Ho Chi Minh City - Notre-Dame

Next stop, the Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica... it is just a few minutes walk from the Independent Palace... we actually came from the side... and the sight of it is amazing... the whole cathedral is orange-brown in colour, bricks... and the two bell towers is so tall...

Just amazing... we spent quite some time taking photos outside... hehe...

Then we decided to go in... there is some prayers going on since it is a Sunday... so we quickly took our pictures and left...

Just beside the cathedral is the post office... a very huge one... where you could actually visits... so we went in a while to have a look...

Outside the post office is a lady selling some food that looks like kuih bahulu... and it taste great... so we bought some as snacks...

That time is almost 6pm and we actually have skipped our lunch... so we decided to have an early dinner... we went to this restaurant that is highly recommended by the hotel receptionist... this is thier famous noodle soup called Pho... they have chicken and beef but no pork Pho... every where is like that... I dunno why... I asked the Viet Nam colleagues and they also dunno... haha...

This is some pork noodles... not Pho... the soup is sweet... not so nice...

Pork satay.. sort of... hahaha...

The restaurant name is Ngon... so I assume nha hang is restaurant...

After dinner the sky already turned dark... so we walk around to feel the night life... and to see the Opera House... it's quite a walking distance...

The Opera House is just to took photos of the architectures... we are not allowed to go in...

Then we walk around the area since it is still kinda early... we saw there are a lot of Christmas decorations since it is just around the corner... almost every shops (including the small small shops) have their own decorations... it really have the Christmas feel.. I had actually posted the Christmas decoration during Christmas earlier... Click here if you missed it...

During the night... motorbikes are everywhere... they are like water gushing out from a pipe... I had no other words to describe it... and in Vietnam, to cross the road... you need guts... just close your eyes and walk across... if you dont, you will forever not cross... seriously...

Basically that ends our free day... the day after that we are working as this is a business trip... but there are more pictures... mostly are food pictures... hehe... stay tuned..
