Ho Chi Minh City - Ben Thanh Market

Last month before Christmas, went to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Vietnam... it was actually a business trip... but we went earlier a day to look around the city... there's three of us who went.. our flight was early in the morning by MAS... it took around 2 hours to reach there.. we reached around 11am our time, which is 10am their time (all time will be VN time onwards)...

So we took our luggage and took a cab straight to our hotel... a hotel that we book ourselves online... it's actually quite a nice place... we wanted to go to the Cu Chi Tunnels but according to the hotel receptionist, the tour is only in the morning... so we have no choice and he recommended some places to go... by feet...

So, the first place we decided to fo is the Ben Thanh Market... it's actually quite near to our hotel... the first impression of the city when I was walking around is that... it has a hell lots of motorbikes... the whole streets are filled with them...

And this is how you have your meals everyday... sitting on a small stool by the road side... holding on to a bowl... and enjoy the 'extra ingredients' from the air or road side... hahaha... just kidding... it's actually very clean on how they prepare the food...

Pork...

Meat balls... we did not try any as we thought it is gonna be lunch time... so we just walk around...

This is their famous electric cables... you could see it everywhere... wonder how they gonna fix it if one of them short circuit or what... according to colleague from VN... it actually entered the Guinness Books of Records... no kidding...

After a 10 minutes walk or so... we reached the Ben Thanh Market... it's a very famous market in HCMC... actually it's like a normal market in Malaysia where a part is the wet area, another is the dry area, and an area selling foods..

Some vegetables and fruits carvings... pretty...

Scorpions wine... looks poisonous...

A varieties of I-dunno-what... think is sweets, peanuts and spices...

Some army figurines...

Vietnam girls wood carvings... so cute and pretty...

Bought a pancake looking food to try... there's some minced pork in it...

Told you... it's everywhere... stay tune for more...
