Night b4 'tang cuek'
'eee' is in hokkien... it means 'tang yuan' (chinese)... if you a hokkien, you should know how to pronouns... kakaka... don't ask me what its called in english... i don't know...
There are 2 types... 1 is white, another is red.. don't ask me why too... i also don't know... hehe... we usually make the red one's smaller... some people make same size like my aunt... some people put 'tao sa' (red bean paste) in it... or kacang...
Well, 'tang cuek' (hokkien) or 'tong zhi' (chinese) means mid-winter... if not mistaken la... hehe... its the last day of this year... or that year... or... u get what i mean... anywho, all the gods will be going back to heaven to report... something like that... so on this day, we will make 'eee' and boiled it and serve it with ginger water... something like that la... this will be offered to the gods... the 'eee' is sticky n sweet... so when the gods balik... they will say good stuff about us and our family lo... so in the new year, everything will be smooth... something like that la... hahaha... a lot of 'something like that' o... hehehe... that's just a story la... whether is true or not... you decide yourself la... the actual meaning of 'eee' is unity la... cause the whole family will make it... golek golek the thing... then eat together... something like that la... hahaha... my mom used to say that eat 'eee' will old 1 year... hehehe... if you wanna stay the same age... don't eat it... kakaka... lame right... hehe...
