FreeAgent
Last week I went to the KL PC Fair with my Derrick... we took the LRT and met with another friend, Alan there... this is my first time being there and it was a little disapointing to me... I was imagining a sardine-can-like-crowd... where the promoters are shouting out their products and low prices... but it was not... it was just like a normal shopping mall where people window shop... maybe it's because the venue is bigger and more organized...
I bought an external HDD... the Seagate FreeAgent 1TB... it cost RM315 and it wouldnt go less... but I would not know on the last day as we went on Saturday... some say in the morning it was sold for RM299 only...
Neway, this is the bigger one then the usual small pocket-size model... this model has a power supply (you could see 2 cables behind it)... another is for USB connection... unlike the smaller size model which only need an USB connector... the difference is that in this model, since it uses a power supply it speed is 7200rpm... so it will transfer file faster... but the size is also bigger... as for the smaller model it's only 5400rpm... but it's much smaller...
For the software that is in the HDD... it's easy to install... but before installation it will ask you to register your product for the 5 year warranty worldwide... if you din register, the warranty is void... the software include a backup system, a sync system and a security feature... the backup will copy a set of your files into the drive... the sync will also copy a set of data but it will automatically/manually update the content of the data if there is any changes... if you have another PC/lappie with the same set of data, just plug it in and it will auto update it... and the security is to encrypt your important files with password... it's very easy to use...
Loving it...
