Melaka with the Thais
Last weekend went to Melaka... yeap, went to not went back... hahaha... 3 Thai colleague came for training and we brought them to Melaka to taste the food and also some sight seeing... on Saturday morning, we had breakfast at Old Town... met up with KH and Alex before leaving on our journey... we checked into our hotel, King's Hotel the moment we arrived... it's actually bigger than we expected...
After that, we went for lunch at Jonker Street.. what else but the infamous Chicken Rice Ball... too hungry liao... no photos... hahaha... after lunch, we walk around and went to the Red House...
This photo is the proof that we have been to Melaka... hahaha...
After snapping some photos, where else but to climb up the St. John Hill...
Some side seeing before reaching the top...
The abandoned church... which is a tourists attraction now...
Soon after we reached the other side of the hill... which is the A'Famosa Fort... that day got a school trip or something... cause the fort is pack with kids... very the noisy ar...
After walking under the hot sun for hours... we decided to have tea break at Nadeje... but that day a bit 'sueh'... the shop closed at 3pm... sweat... so we decided to walk back... but then they say the Taming Sari... and decided to have a ride... Malaysians is RM10... tourists is RM20...
Then, we walk around to the Ship Museum... cause they wanted to snap photos of it...
Snap snap and we moved on... pass by the Water Wheel on the way...
We walk back to Jonker Street and stop at the famous Cendol to take a short break...
We also ordered some Asam Laksa for them to try...
Then we continue walking and then decided to go to Cheng Hun Teng... the oldest temple in Malaysia (according to the notice board outside the temple)...
After saying our prayers... we went back to Jonker Street... cause the night market is starting... and is a good time to buy souvenirs... walk and walk and walk... around 7pm or so... we decided to go to the Portuguese Settlement for dinner... photos not so nice since it is at night... paiseh... then they felt the urge to go for Satay Celup... say let them (Thai colleagues) try... and we just eat a stick or two only...
But we end up eating alot... hahaha... we went at around 10pm I think, cant remember... and there are still people queuing... so we also joined the queue... and this is the first time I queued for this...normally we would go at 6pm, where there is not that many people yet...
Then we went back our hotel... I was forced to stay with them one T_T... cause if the send me back... they dunno how to go back... so no choice lo... some of them actually din stay and went back KL after that...
The next morning, after having breakfast in the hotel... went to the Jusco at Bukit Beruang... cause they want to buy some stuffs... then around 12pm we went to Dataran again... to Nadeje where we have missed... they're famous for their crepe cake... it's located above dataran... search for Old Town and you're near... just around the corner...
After a short break... went shopping around before going for lunch at Makka... a Nyonya cuisince restaurant at Melaka Raya... opposite Public Bank (if not mistaken)...
This is Pongteh.. dont ask me why there's a 'g' there... I also dunno... since small I always known it as Ponteh till I went to Nyonya Restaurant... all write as Pongteh in the menu... shrugs...
Asam fish... not bad, not bad...
This is Ayam Buah Keluak... ayam is chicken, buah keluak is a kind of fruit... the shell is like snake skin... some people call it snake skin fruit... most people dont like the taste and smell of the fruit... I also dunno how to describe the taste...
This is Sago Gula Melaka... transparent-jelly-like thing... hahaha... also known as Mata Ikan (fish eye)... when I was little, mom used to say cook green bean with mata ikan... and I really thought it is fish eye... until I grow up only know it is not... it's actually made by tapioca floor (if not mistaken la)...after that, went to buy some local food... then went back to my house a while... and we went back around 4.30pm cause their flight back to Thailand is at 8pm... hopefully they enjoyed their stay here in Malaysia...
P.S.: photos taken using my bro's 450D... but now is mine... nyek nyek nyek...
